FA and Saudi Governance Center Sign Cooperation Agreement to Develop and Provide Training Programs on Governance

Sunday, 04 February 2018

FA has signed a cooperation agreement with Saudi Governance Center to develop and provide specialized training programs on governance. These programs are directed at chairpersons and members of boards and boards’ committees; executive management members; and those concerned with governance, compliance, and internal audit functions. The agreement included a cooperation framework, which covers the development and provision of three main programs: Governance Basics, Governance of Board of Directors at Joint-Stock Companies, and Governance of Committees at Joint-Stock Companies. Each program will last for two days.

On this occasion, Director General of FA, Thamer Mohammed Al-Essa, said that this agreement comes in line with the IOF mission which focuses on developing workforce in the financial sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and meeting different training needs of all institutions of this sector. He also said that the partnership with the Saudi Governance Center will add more training programs to programs offered by FA and will contribute to keeping abreast of regulatory developments in the governance area.

It is noteworthy that CMA has launched the updated version of Corporate Governance Regulations in the first half of this year. FA seeks, through offering such programs in cooperation with the Saudi Governance Center, to enhance knowledge level of governance basics and concepts and promote governance practices in the financial sector.
